Physiotherapy

Our clinic offers physiotherapy, which addresses the muscular aspect of the patient’s problems. These therapies include electric muscle stimulation (EMS) to reduce muscle spasm and provide pain control, ultrasound to promote the healing of the tissues, heat and ice to reduce spasm and promote healing, intersegmental traction (“roller”) tables which restore motion to the spine, and water jet tables to promote general muscle relaxation. We have an x-ray facility on site. We also have partnered with Medical Diagnostic Imaging to provide MRI at our clinic. Most insurances cover MRI and low cost cash prices are available for patients who are uninsured or have high deductibles.

Your first visit will take approximately one hour. Dr. Harel will take a case history, perform an examination, and take X-rays if needed. Dr. Harel will explain your condition, including recommendations for care. You will receive physiotherapy and a spinal adjustment on your first visit. Please bring all insurance information to your first visit. Deductibles and co pays are due the same day of service. Cash discounts are available for patients who are uninsured or have high deductibles. Cash visits are also due the same day of service. MasterCard, Discover, Visa, and check can be used for cash discount.

Massage Therapy

Our massage therapists are trained in many different modalities, including Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, hot stone massage, Thai massage (stretching), acupressure and reflexology and myofascial release. We have 8 massage therapists who are trained to treat difficult conditions such as back and neck related pain, headaches and shoulder and hip pain. The massage therapist can work on specific areas, full body or relaxation massage.

We will offer many monthly massage specials and massage plans throughout the year. We have gift certificates available for purchase. We offer a massage plan card, which gives you one free 60-minute massage after the purchase of five 60-minute massages. The gift certificates do not have to be purchased at the same time to qualify for the free massage. Our gift certificates are non-refundable. You can use the gift certificates for yourself or give them as gifts. Our gift certificates do not expire. Gift certificates must be presented at the time of service.

• A 24 hour notice must be given for massage cancellation or a fee of $30 will be charged. The fee is also assessed for patients who do not show up for their massage appointments.

Products

Vitamins
We carry an extensive supply of vitamins, mineral and herbal supplements from the pharmaceutical grade Metagenic vitamin line. That means that the vitamins were tested for quality, purity and quantity. Most vitamins on the market are not tested. You may not be getting the vitamin stated on the package, the pure quality of the vitamin or you may be getting a vitamin that is mostly filler. These vitamins also may be contaminated with mercury, cadmium or lead which are harmful if ingested over long periods.

All patients and massage clients receive 10% off vitamins and products. We offer monthly specials of 20% off on vitamins and a vitamin plan card, which gives you a $25 gift certificate towards a future purchase after purchasing $250 in vitamins. Dr. Harel can advise you on the correct vitamins and dosages for many conditions. Conditions treated by Doctor Harel include stomach issues, sinus issues, allergies, back and neck pain, headaches, fatigue and weight gain, period, menopausal symptoms. We also offer great multivitamins, calcium, vitamin C and omega 3 fish oils. We will be offering a 10 day detox program and weight loss program in 2012.

Biofreeze
Biofreeze is a self-applicable form of cryotherapy (cold therapy) that gives relief of pain from sore muscles and joints associated with arthritis, backaches, strains, and sprains. We have roll-on, spray, and gel products available. Biofreeze is made from a natural product and is very effective. It reduces inflammation and can be used when active. Most topical pain relievers create heat which can increase pain. Biofreeze cools the tissues and decreases inflammation and pain.

TENS Units and Massagers
Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation, more commonly referred to as a “TENS” unit, uses the application of electrical current through the skin for pain control and reduction of muscle spasm. The Thumper is an electric massager that releases muscular tension. These are great products for use at home for pain relief. They work well for people who experience sudden and severe back or neck pain that may keep them from work or other activities. Dr. Harel and her staff can advise you on the use of these products and which conditions they may be used for.

Orthopedic Pillows
Orthopedic pillows provide support for your neck and upper back. They help relieve pain and numbness, and reduce headaches and snoring. Proper neck support is important for patients who have suffered any past injury to the neck such as a car accident, fall or people with chronic neck pain, TMJ, and headaches. We have different sizes depending on neck size. It is important to have the correct size pillow for your neck. Most cervical pillows on the market including memory foam pillows can make a neck problem worse. If you are waking up with neck pain or headaches your pillow may be contributing to the problem. Dr. Harel uses the Therapeutica cervical pillows which provide support for sleeping on the back and the side. In most cervical pillows the foam breaks down within a year creating a loss in support, the foam in a Therapeutica pillow is guaranteed for five years.

Leg Spacers
Leg spacers help side sleepers to reduce lower back and hip pain. They relieve leg and hip pain, numbness or tingling, and sciatica. Bed pillows are not firm enough to provide side support. The leg spacers are butterfly shaped and come in both petite and standard for the perfect fit.

Lumbar Pillows
Lumbar pillows provide lumbar back support at your desk or in a chair or in your car. They have a strap to attach to a desk chair. They can help ease back pain and improve posture.

Lumbar Supports
Lumbar supports act as a brace to support the lower spine and hips. Patients are able to walk and move with full support of the lower back. The brace can be worn under clothing. The brace provides protection for the lower back when doing heavy lifting. The lumbar brace provides protection for the lower back when doing heavy lifting. The lumbar braces provide support from the back, sides and front acting like an ace bandage on a sprained ankle. They come in small, medium, large, x-large and xx-large.

Thumpers
We carry a great massager with dual heads, long handle for self use and a heavy duty motor for a deeper massage. The mini pro2 and sport thumper relief muscle tightness, knots and pain relief.
